Do I have to already be a salsa teacher to take the training programmes offerred at the LDA?
No - however we will not advise you to take the salsa examination until you have at least some teaching experience. We can help find you a teaching placement if you need one.
How do I know which training programme is the correct one for me?
We always advise the most complete programme of training in order to ensure that our students have covered everything needed to pass the exam. However we recognise that many experienced teachers may only need to brush up in specific areas of salsa which is why we will be led by the student to determine which modules are required by our students and indeed whether or not they actual;ly wish to sit the examination or not.
What do salsa teachers earn on average?
This depends on experience and how well known the teacher is but the average hourly prices can vary from £20 to £80 per hour with choreography and corporate entertainment demanding much higher hourly prices of £120 + per hour.
