Taught by Susana Montero & Lady Laura Goodwin-Freeman, students can also sit the related ISTD examination to gain a recognised salsa qualification from such a revered dance body.

Saturday from 10am till 6pm
Sunday from 10am till 4pm/6pm depending

*Description of the main Salsa styles (Cuban / Los Angeles (L.A) / New York / Puerto Rican / Colombian)
*Foundations of the dance (Body movement / Body isolation / Basic styling / Leading techniques / Arm positions & Hand holds / Procedures / Spinning techniques / Freestyle & Shines)
*Timing, Musicality & Introduction to the Salsa band instruments (Clave / Conga / Tumbao Downbeats / Musicality in Salsa / Teaching timing / The Structure of a Salsa Track)
MODULE 2:
*Responsibilities of a teacher (Health & Safety / Music Licences / Insurance / Child Protection / Professional Conduct & Etiquette)
*Teaching skills (Lesson planning / Getting to know your students / Create a positive learning or teaching environment / Encouraging self-expression & creativity / Positive communication skills / Difficult teaching scenarios / Become a positive role model)
*Teaching techniques (Methodology / Learning how to break steps & figures down / Pedagogy / Development of teaching practices / * CPD (Self-learning, self-development & career development / Assessments, reports & feedback / Help & Guidance including Social Media)
